China's proposed LED film standard project has been approved by international organizations

According to news on February 12, CCTV Finance reported that LED is leading the technological transformation of the film industry, and my country has made a breakthrough in the formulation of relevant international standards.

Previously, the international film standard project "Optical Technical Requirements and Measurement Methods for Digital Cinema LED Cinemas" proposed by China has been approved by the International Organization for Standardization and officially launched. It is planned to be released within three years. It will standardize and lead LED cinemas to improve projection quality and promote the large-scale promotion and application of LED digital cinema projections around the world.

According to data, the "Optical Technical Requirements and Measurement Methods for Digital Movie LED Cinemas" will be released and implemented in November 2023. The standard puts forward specific requirements for the optical technical requirements and measurement methods of digital movie LED cinemas and standardizes the development of the LED movie screen market.

The drafting units of this standard include China Film Science and Technology Institute, Shenzhen Unilumin Technology Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Times Huaying Technology Co., Ltd., China Film Guangfeng Laser Cinema Technology Co., Ltd., Leyard Optoelectronics Co., Ltd., etc.

Regarding the approval of this standard by the International Organization for Standardization, Liu Maoying, head of the Standards Research Division of the China Institute of Film Science and Technology, said that the entire standard project preparation period took nearly 2 years, and the project finally received approval from 8 countries. support for the proposal, and five countries have pledged to send experts to participate in the project.

Liu Maoying revealed that among the current 24 digital film standards, except for one that was led by China, the remaining 23 were all rapidly transformed from the standards of the American Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers. This also means that international standards in the film field are basically formulated by Hollywood in the United States. The successful establishment of this project also reflects the increasing influence of Chinese films in the field of international standards.
