On May 25, 2026, the opening ceremony of the industry-education integration internship (training) base of the School of Intelligent Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing Innovation of Fudan University was grandly held at the Shanghai headquarters of Opple Lighting. The base was jointly built by Fudan University and Opple Lighting. It integrates joint office, collaborative research and development, and immersive practical training. It is committed to opening up the entire chain from talent training to achievement output to serving society, building an innovation closed loop with deep integration of industry, academia, and research, and providing a solid carrier for talent cultivation and cutting-edge technology transformation in the field of intelligent manufacturing. Since December 2024, Opple Lighting and Fudan University have successively promoted strategic collaboration. Relying on the "Fudan-Opple Global Smart Lighting School-Enterprise Joint Laboratory", the two parties have achieved an "acceleration" of industry-university-research cooperation. At the ceremony, Professor Dai Qi of Fudan University released the results of the first phase of the joint laboratory project "Research on Innovative Application of Suitable Light Environment for Aging".
As my country enters a moderately aging society, the problem of light environment in homes, communities and elderly care institutions has become increasingly prominent. Physiological changes such as yellowing of the lens, decreased dark adaptation, and weakened color vision resolution are common in the elderly. Based on the visual and physiological characteristics of the Chinese elderly, the research team reconstructed a visual perception aging model based on aging-appropriate physiological parameters, and innovatively proposed a two-dimensional evaluation system of "authenticity + discriminability". After two stages of multi-dimensional psychophysical human factors experiments, the research team completed the screening and optimization of high-quality spectral bases, and constructed a core technical solution for healthy lighting products with visual enhancement functions, which not only allows the elderly to more clearly distinguish object boundaries and colors, but also improves sleep and mood through rhythmic spectral adjustment.
For the first time, this technology has established a complete closed loop for the research and development of aging-friendly healthy lighting - from physiological mechanism research and evaluation standard formulation to spectral technology verification and scene module output. It fills the domestic gap in the field of color vision assessment and adaptive lighting technology for the elderly and lays a solid theoretical foundation and technical support for the subsequent research and development of aging-friendly healthy lighting products.
At present, the technical solution has formed standardized modules for multiple scenarios such as homes, communities and elderly care institutions, achieving rapid transformation from laboratory to practical application. At the ceremony, the "Healthy Light" technology based on an aging-friendly light environment was officially released and launched in CPIC Home. This means that age-friendly technology is no longer a concept in the laboratory, but has truly entered daily life to protect the happy life of the elderly.
Based on the mature mechanism of the joint laboratory, both parties continue to focus on the cutting-edge field of smart lighting. At the event site, the joint laboratory completed a new round of key project signings. Opple Lighting representatives signed cooperation agreements on "Development of Image Recognition and 3D Reconstruction Fusion Technology" and "Application Development of Light Engine Large Model Technology" with Professor Chen Tao and Professor Ye Ziyi of Fudan University respectively.
The two major topics closely follow the trend of in-depth integration of smart lighting, artificial intelligence, and multi-modal large models. They will promote the upgrade of lighting equipment from "passive lighting" to "active perception, intelligent interaction, and emotional adaptation", provide more immersive and personalized light environment solutions for smart homes, commercial spaces, and urban public scenes, and help the lighting industry move into the era of intelligence.

At the ceremony, the "Fudan University-Opple Lighting Professional Degree Graduate Professional Practice Base" was officially unveiled, marking that both parties have entered a new stage of physical and institutionalized operation in talent training.
The base innovatively adopts the "dual tutor system + dual base system" model: students will solidify their theoretical foundation on the Fudan campus and hone their practical skills in the Op Global R&D Center and smart factories. The base has built a four-level progressive education system of "competition-practice-internship-entrepreneurship". In the next three years, the base plans to continue to train and transport nearly a hundred high-quality interns, promote the output of a number of invention patents, and actively participate in leading the formulation of international or national standards to truly open up the "last mile" of the transformation of scientific research results.
At the event, the "Light Source Intelligence Innovation Design Competition" was launched simultaneously. This competition is open to university teachers, students and industry developers, focusing on intelligent lighting, light effect interaction, healthy light environment and other directions. Through "promoting learning through competition, promoting research through competition, and promoting production through competition", college students are encouraged to combine artificial intelligence technology with lighting design, discover and cultivate interdisciplinary innovative talents, and reserve core momentum for the future development of the industry.
In addition, Opple Lighting signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Pujiang China Holdings Co., Ltd. Focusing on green and low-carbon, smart energy saving, asset operations, and ESG construction, the two parties will promote the integration of smart lighting and property systems, build an industrial-level solution platform, deploy collaborative research in the fields of new energy and smart cities, and use technological innovation to assist the digital transformation of assets.
