Equipped with a 4-core backlight architecture, Hisense releases new RGB-Mini LED TV

In 2026, the Mini LED backlight industry will continue to benefit from the dividends of technology iteration and has become the core competition track in the high-end TV market.

Yesterday, TCL released the new SQD-Mini LED TV, accelerating the popularization process of SQD-Mini LED technology.

Today, Hisense released a new generation of RGB-Mini LED TV at CES2026. The new generation of RGB-Mini LED technology unveiled simultaneously has attracted industry attention with its breakthroughs in three dimensions: light source architecture, image quality chip and color management.

It can be seen that leading brands are accelerating their layout through differentiated technology routes to promote the maturity and market penetration of the Mini LED backlight industry.

▋ Hisense releases new generation RGB-Mini LED technology

According to Hisense official disclosure, the core upgrade of the new generation RGB-Mini LED technology is concentrated in three key links, and each breakthrough directly addresses the existing pain points of the industry.

At the light source level, Hisense innovatively launched the exquisite 4-core true-color backlight architecture. Based on the traditional RGB three primary color light-emitting chips, a fourth azure self-luminous chip was added. This world-first design directly broke the color gamut boundaries of traditional display technology.

Data shows that this backlight technology enables the TV color gamut to reach 110% of the BT.2020 standard, expanding the traditional triangular color gamut into a quadrilateral, which is 10% higher than the current high-end QD-Mini LED product color gamut, 18% higher than QD-OLED, and the color volume has also reached the industry's highest 100%. At the same time, through the combination of exquisite pentahedral packaging technology and color separation algorithm, this technology effectively solves the three common problems of color cross-color, color halo and color cast in ordinary color backlights, achieving both improved accuracy and purity of color presentation.

The iteration of image quality chips has become another core of technology upgrades. Hisense's self-developed Xinxin AI image quality chip H7 improves the color control accuracy to 134 bits and has the ability to distinguish 100 billion color differences. Its powerful computing power can easily handle the complex light mixing calculation of the exquisite 4-core backlight.

According to reports, this upgrade directly improves the inherent shortcomings of the two types of high-end display products: it not only solves the problem of insufficient color expression of OLED TVs at medium brightness, but also solves the color "bleaching" phenomenon that is prone to occur in traditional QD-Mini LED TVs in high-brightness scenes, achieving high color gamut performance at global full brightness.

It is worth noting that the technological synergy also brings dual benefits of health and energy saving. The harmful blue light of the new generation product is 60% lower than that of QD-OLED and 75% lower than that of traditional QD-Mini LED. The energy consumption is also reduced by 30%, taking into account the ultimate picture quality and user experience.

On the color management side, Hisense has built a full-link color system that uses professional-grade 3D LUT technology and light and shadow console functions to achieve end-to-end color calibration from content input to display output. This design ensures that the display effect can faithfully restore the original intention of the content creator, whether it is the dynamic scenes of sports events or the light and shadow details of AAA games, it can present professional production-level color performance.

▋ Hisense’s new UX series will be launched in China for the first time in March

It is worth noting that Hisense’s flagship product released this time, the UX series, as the world’s first TV product equipped with exquisite 4-core color backlight, has won the “CES 2026 Honor Award” and is determined to be first launched in the Chinese market in March 2026.

In fact, since Hisense released RGB-Mini LED technology in 2025, this technology route has quickly triggered the industry to follow suit, and mainstream brands have laid out their plans, confirming its technological forward-looking.

Market data has fully demonstrated the competitiveness of this technology. Eight months after the launch of Hisense RGB-Mini LED TV in 2025, in the offline high-end large-screen market during the Double 11 cycle that year, the RGB-Mini LED TV category quickly occupied 50% of the market share, of which the Hisense brand accounted for nearly 90%.

So far, Hisense has built a complete product matrix covering the ultra-flagship UX, imaging flagship U7S Pro and video game flagship E8S series, with sizes covering the mainstream range of 75-116 inches to meet the needs of different high-end users.

David Gold, deputy general manager of Hisense Americas, said that the end point of technological innovation is inclusiveness. Hisense is accelerating the popularization of RGB-Mini LED technology, and the path from technological breakthrough to product launch to market explosion also shows that this technology route has moved from "early adopter level" to "mainstream level".

The "2025 Mini LED Consumer and Automotive Application Research White Paper" shows that in 2026, the Mini LED backlight industry will continue to benefit from continued technology iteration, mainly reflected in the two dimensions of performance improvement and cost optimization. In terms of technology, taking the TV scene as an example, emerging technologies such as RGB Mini LED and SQD-Mini LED are becoming the key to differentiated competition in high-end products. These technologies significantly improve color gamut coverage and color performance by moving the three primary color light sources of red, green, and blue directly to the backlight side, allowing LCD products to directly compete with OLED in terms of picture quality.

Hisense has consolidated its dominant position in the RGB-Mini LED track through continuous technology iteration.

With the intensive efforts of leading companies, the technology competition in the high-end TV market will become more intense in 2026, and the dual drive of technology iteration and price sinking will also push the Mini LED backlight industry into a faster development stage.

It is worth noting that experts say that the "2025 Mini LED Consumer and Automotive Application Research White Paper" has been launched, with a total of nine chapters, the results of a survey of 40+ companies, covering the 2025 Mini LED industry development and trend outlook, key technology and product progress analysis, TV/e-sports display/automotive LED and other application market analysis, Mini LED industry development analysis and trend outlook, Mini LED key application brand progress analysis, MLED key manufacturer progress, etc. Standard version price: ¥899, online price: ¥799, welcome to scan the QR code to subscribe.
