Saphlux, a leader in quantum dot Micro‑LED display technology, has officially launched the NPQD® R3 new generation quantum dot technology platform, relying on mature market application verification and in-depth technology research and development. This platform is specially designed for the high-end quantum dot Micro-LED display solution QD Plus quantum dot screen. Through the dual upgrade of nanopore quantum dot (NPQD) technology and manufacturing process, it has successfully overcome the long-standing problem of full viewing angle bias in conventional COB screens, achieved key breakthroughs in the two core indicators of color accuracy and color gamut, and redefined the industry standard for high-end display core components.
NPQD® R3 achieves a breakthrough in core technology, and its performance surpasses the previous generation in all aspects
Compared with the previous generation R2 platform, NPQD® R3 has achieved a significant jump in luminous efficiency and service life, with an efficiency increase of 15% and a lifespan directly doubled, providing a more stable and efficient core support for high-end display scenarios.
The colors of the whole scene are accurately upgraded from all angles, and the colors are always consistent.
NPQD® R3 deeply integrates the advantages of nanohole quantum dot technology and comprehensively optimizes it from the four dimensions of material system, light field control, thermal management, and wavelength control, completely solving the viewing angle pain points in scenes such as large-size displays and multi-faceted CAVE screens.
The platform uses GaN-based red Micro-LED chips, whose light distribution is closer to the Lambertian distribution, and the viewing angle matching with the blue-green GaN chip is significantly improved, which fundamentally alleviates the side-view color cast problem caused by the mismatch in the light-emitting angles of traditional AlInGaP red chips and blue-green chips.

The nanohole structure brings high color purity and efficient light conversion, fully releasing red light performance under high brightness conditions; the temperature drift of the red LED center wavelength is controlled within ±0.2nm. Under standard observation conditions, the average ΔE of the entire screen is ≤ 2, and the coordinate deviation of the full-view character is controlled within a high-precision range.
At the same time, the white light brightness can exceed 1,000 nits under low sweep frequency driving. In the junction temperature range of 25℃~100℃, the steady-state brightness attenuation is ≤15%; within the typical driving current range, the wavelength shift is ≤2nm, achieving stable color output under all working conditions.

Ultra-high color purity and color gamut coverage reach a new high
The NPQD® R3 quantum dot technology platform further enhances red light spectral performance and color purity, laying a solid foundation for wide color gamut display. The color gamut covers ≥97% DCI-P3. After system color matching optimization, it can be infinitely close to the Rec. 2020 wide color gamut standard.

Based on the GaN-based RGB three-color system, the peak efficiency is more evenly matched, effectively improving problems such as uneven color gamut and color shift drift in traditional display solutions, making the picture color purer and the color transition more natural and delicate.
