Micro-level MiP panels have finally landed, and industrial penetration is expected to accelerate

Recently, Aimaipu officially released new Micro-level MiP series panels, marking that Micro-level MIP panel technology has officially entered the industrial application stage.

Experts say Display believes that this release may accelerate the penetration of Micro-level MIP technology into the mid-to-high-end display market.

The addition of Aimaipu means that the number of important supply chain companies entering the panel field has further increased. This means that the evolution of the LED display industry has gone beyond the simple dispute between SMD discrete devices and COB technology routes. Both MIP and COB have now entered the display supply chain as a "panel". This transformation is reshaping the industrial division of labor.

Amip's Micro-MiP panel makes its grand debut

From a product perspective, Amip's new Micro-MiP display panel series is mainly composed of the standard version of the P series and the professional version of the M series.

Among them, the standard version of the P series is mainly aimed at a wide range of application scenarios, covering the color gamut of DCI-P3 ≥ 95% and providing 14bit grayscale. The professional version of the M series is positioned in demanding fields such as high-end commercial display, monitoring and scheduling display, virtual display, and home theater. The color gamut coverage is increased to DCI-P3 ≥ 98% and supports 16-bit grayscale.

In terms of key performance indicators, the two series of new products demonstrate their maturity as panel-level solutions: a contrast ratio of up to 100,000:1 ensures deep black fields and rich light and dark levels; a horizontal viewing angle of ≥175 degrees effectively ensures the consistency of multi-angle viewing; the entire series supports HDR, and has a refresh rate of up to 7680Hz, providing a solid technical foundation for high-speed dynamic content presentation. These parameters all meet the core demands of the professional display market for image quality, color and smoothness.

From a technical perspective, the new Micro-MiP panel products continue its process accumulation in mass transfer and packaging. Among them, the mass transfer yield rate of two series can reach 99.9999%, and combined with the RDL packaging process, this not only lays the foundation for the long-term reliability of the product, but also means that it has certain potential advantages in terms of mass production costs and later maintenance. At the same time, new products achieve front-end color consistency control through chip-level full testing and hybrid Bin technology, which directly puts the quality control link in front, reducing the commissioning threshold and cost of terminal screen manufacturers. This is also the core improvement of panel solutions for industrial efficiency.

Currently, the application of MiP panel products in relevant markets has been rapidly spread. Experts say Display has learned that Aimaipu’s MiP panels and core components have been successfully introduced to many companies and delivered. At the recent ISE 2026 exhibition, Corrente focused on the 4K MiP foldable lifting all-in-one machine, which used the 0.7mm MiP panel jointly developed by both parties. The excellent on-site display effect attracted widespread attention.

Micro-level MIP is expected to enter a new stage of speed-up in 2026

An in-depth analysis found that Aimaipu’s new product launch is not a simple product line extension, but a well-thought-out portfolio strategy aimed at building long-term competitive advantages. Its strategic intention is clear and pragmatic. The core is to systematically solve the core pain points faced by the current Micro LED, especially the MIP technology route, in the industrialization process through panel-based products, thereby accelerating technology popularization and market penetration.

1. Break the bottleneck of industrialization and lower the entry barrier through panelization:

Previously, Micro-level MIP devices were mainly targeted at COB companies with die-bonding equipment and head-mounted LED display manufacturers. The technical threshold limited their wide application. Especially for many small and medium-sized screen manufacturers, if they want to launch MIP displays, they must invest in new die-bonding equipment, which poses significant financial and technical obstacles.

The new panel products launched by Aimaipu this time are directly oriented to the form of finished panels and are expected to change this situation. This product reduces screen manufacturers' reliance on front-end component manufacturing and die-bonding equipment, allowing more manufacturers to skip high equipment investment and long process debugging cycles, access the MIP technology system with a lower threshold, and quickly launch corresponding terminal products.

This essentially significantly lowers the threshold for using MIP technology and broadens the basis for participation in the technology ecosystem.

2. Reshape industrial efficiency and shorten the value delivery path:

The deeper strategic logic behind the launch of Aimaipu panel products is to optimize the division of labor in the industrial chain and improve overall efficiency. As mentioned above, the new product has passed "chip-level full testing and front-end color consistency control achieved by hybrid Bin technology", which means that a large amount of quality control and debugging work will be completed in the panel link.

For terminal screen manufacturers, this directly shortens the R&D and production cycle and reduces overall costs. Industrial evolution therefore transcends mere disputes over technical routes and shifts to a more efficient division of value.

Therefore, the emergence of panel products will not only help promote the penetration of MIP technology from the mid-to-high-end market to a wider range of application fields, accelerate the popularization of Micro LED in command centers, virtual production, high-end retail and other scenarios, but will also guide the transformation and upgrading of the entire industry to higher value-added areas.

Although the current cost and mass production scale of Micro LED are still common challenges faced by the entire industry, Aimap's promotion of panel-level products this time will undoubtedly provide a more flexible and lower-threshold technology access path for enterprises in the middle and lower reaches of the industry chain. In the future, as more manufacturers join the MIP ecosystem, the commercialization process of Micro LED display technology may enter a new stage of acceleration, and the value distribution and competition pattern of the industry chain will also undergo a profound reconstruction.

Experts say Research summary

From a deeper industrial significance, as MIP and COB technologies each extend to the panel link, the industry chain is no longer entangled in the issue of who creates the added value of the light source, but each extends one step further downstream to form a clearer division of labor. This allows downstream screen manufacturers to focus more resources on channel construction, brand building, user experience optimization, and the development of value-added capabilities such as software and AI.

To sum up, the release of Micro-MiP panel by Amip is a proactive response to this industry trend. On the eve of the large-scale commercialization of Micro LED, its "core device + panel" dual-line drive mode accurately cuts through the industrialization bottleneck by providing a set of "easier to use and more efficient" solutions. The core of its strategy is to leverage panel products to leverage broader market applications; empower with solutions to reduce innovation costs across the entire industry chain; and ultimately build a virtuous ecological cycle from core devices to terminal applications, and from the stock market to incremental scenarios.

This "dual-line drive" model, while consolidating its own technology moat, aims to inject key acceleration power into the entire MIP technology route and even the large-scale commercialization of the Micro LED industry.

Of course, the market acceptance, cost competitiveness and actual driving effect of new products on the industry chain ecology still need to be continuously tested by the market. But there is no doubt that the successive introduction of panel-level MIP solutions has opened a new narrative chapter for the next stage of competition and collaboration in the LED display industry.
