Recently, the progress of multiple LED-related enterprise projects has been reported.
Among them, Nova Nebula's Huizhou factory construction project has started; Jinan BYD Semiconductor Co., Ltd.'s LED epitaxial chip production and manufacturing project has entered the environmental impact assessment acceptance stage; Yamamoto Optoelectronics' backlight module project has officially been put into production; Liansheng Optoelectronics' LED device project has accelerated construction.
▋ Nova Nebula Huizhou Factory Construction Project Starts
On April 17, Nova Nebula held the Huizhou Factory Construction Project Groundbreaking Ceremony in the North District of Huizhou Xiongtao Technology City.
According to the project registration announcement document of the Development and Reform Bureau of Huicheng District, Huizhou City, the total investment of the project is 30 million yuan, with a total area of approximately 19,427 square meters and a renovation area of nearly 20,000 square meters. It will build a high-standard thousand-level/10,000-level purification workshop and an anti-static workshop, supporting complete projects such as HVAC, electrical, fire protection, and weak current intelligence.
The factory focuses on the large-scale mass production of LED display control and video processing core products, including a full range of display control equipment such as sending cards, receiving cards, display controllers, and video processors.
The project plans to configure 4 modern production lines, 46 test benches, 1 aging line, 2 aging boxes and 1 X-Ray testing equipment. The designed annual production capacity will reach 600,000 sets. After completion, the annual output value is expected to be 1.2 billion yuan.
▋ BYD Semiconductor LED epitaxial chip project
In April, Jinan BYD Semiconductor Co., Ltd.’s LED epitaxial chip production and manufacturing project is a new project of BYD Semiconductor’s layout of automotive-grade optoelectronic semiconductors and has entered the environmental impact assessment acceptance stage.
The project relies on BYD Semiconductor’s technology accumulation in the fields of power semiconductors and smart sensors, focusing on the R&D and manufacturing of automotive-grade LED epitaxial wafers and chips. The products strictly comply with automotive electronics standards such as AEC-Q100 and cover high-end application scenarios such as vehicle lighting, interior ambient lighting, instrument displays, AR-HUD optics, and autonomous driving sensing.
The project plans to build an LED epitaxial wafer production workshop, a chip manufacturing workshop, an R&D and testing center, a clean workshop and supporting power facilities, and introduce internationally advanced process equipment such as MOCVD epitaxial furnaces, photolithography, etching, cutting, and testing to build a full-process automotive-grade production line from epitaxial growth to chip packaging and testing.
After the project is completed, it will form a large-scale production capacity with an annual output of over 120,000 LED epitaxial chips, which can stably support the demand for on-board optoelectronic devices for 1 to 2 million new energy vehicles, fully meet the domestic supply of BYD's Dynasty, Ocean, Denza and Yangwang high-end models, as well as external car companies' car-grade LED chips, effectively alleviating the dependence on imported automotive optoelectronic chips.
▋ With a total investment of 120 million yuan, the Anhui Yamamoto Optoelectronic Backlight Module Project was officially put into production
Recently, the Yamamoto Optoelectronic Backlight Module Project located in Anhui Jin'an Economic Development Zone was officially put into production.
The project was constructed by Shenzhen Yamamoto Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. with an investment of 120 million yuan, focusing on the R&D and production of display backlight modules. Currently, 4 production lines have been put online, with a daily production capacity of approximately 70,000 pieces; 4 more production lines will be added this year, and the daily production capacity will increase to 160,000 pieces. It will further improve Jin'an's "screen back-end module" industry puzzle and help the regional optoelectronics industry move towards large-scale and high-end development.
According to public information, Shenzhen Yamamoto Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. was established in 2003. It is a national high-tech enterprise specializing in the research and development, design, production and sales of LED backlight display modules. The company's products are widely used in communication display modules, health and medical modules, vehicle display modules, instrument display screens and other fields.
▋ Total investment of 500 million yuan, Liansheng Optoelectronics LED device project
According to official news from Jiangsu Rudong Economic Development Zone, Jiangsu Liansheng Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. is accelerating the construction of high-end consumer electronics special devices and LED device packaging manufacturing projects.
The total investment in this project exceeds 500 million yuan, of which equipment investment accounts for 300 million yuan. It focuses on the field of high-end consumer electronics LED packaging. The project plans to lay out 100 LED packaging lines and 5 high-speed patch lines. Currently, 30 production lines have been laid out.
The project builds a full range of packaging product matrix, covering the three major technical routes of SMD surface mount packaging, IMD packaging and COB packaging, and simultaneously lays out backlight modules and intelligent control modules. The core products focus on small-sized mid-to-high-end applications such as mobile phones, tablets, and vehicle-mounted displays, and have locked supply cooperation with leading industry customers such as Huawei and Xiaomi. After reaching full capacity, the annual production capacity is expected to reach 10 billion LED devices and 25 million electronic chip components, which will form an all-weather and efficient production capacity release capability.
As a key complementary project in the electronic information industry cluster, Liansheng Optoelectronics will form industrial synergy with surrounding companies such as Jingdanda and Bosheng to further improve the consumer electronics LED device supply chain in the Yangtze River Delta and provide core support for the large-scale and high-end development of the regional high-end display industry.
