What is BOE Huacan MPD?

MPD is the core technology of Micro LED packaging and application independently developed by BOE Huacan. It has achieved all-round upgrades in display performance and customer ease-of-use, and is the best implementation solution in the current field of micro-pitch real pixels.

It uses a micro-light-emitting unit with an RGB three-in-one integrated design. The light-emitting unit is thinner than a hair, completely bidding farewell to the graininess of traditional displays, making the picture sharper and more detailed. MPD adopts the wafer-level packaging Fan out process, and uses RDL technology to allow Micro-level chips to expand the welding space, which not only gives full play to the performance advantages of Micro devices, but also perfectly solves the ease-of-use problem of downstream applications.

Micro spacing + full scene adaptation, creating a high-end differentiated benchmark solution for small micro spacing

Micro spacing has the best pixel isolation effect: Thanks to the three-color integration of MPD and the advantages of Micro chip, when the pitch reaches the critical size of P0.6, the Mini chip can no longer achieve good pixel isolation effect in the XY direction at the same time. If the adjacent sub-pixels are too close, stripes and cross-colors in the Y direction will be formed; if Mini MIP is used, there will be problems of blue and yellow lines and pitting. MPD is the best implementation solution;

Full-scenario adaptation: Relying on advanced technical architecture and product form, MPD can flexibly adapt to various substrates such as PCB/glass/PI/FPC and adapt to diverse scenarios such as professional displays, commercial displays, home terminals, vehicle displays, and outdoor large screens. Ultra-high contrast + white level consistency: Promoting the ultimate picture quality display

With the dual blessing of ultra-high black area ratio and ultra-high contrast, MPD products make the dark details of the picture purer and the bright areas more transparent. Even in complex light environments, it can also present the ultimate picture quality that is delicate and lifelike; the best white level. The viewing angle design solves the industry pain point of "viewing angle shift or color cast" in mini display. Within the 170° ultra-wide viewing angle range, every angle can obtain a consistent high-definition visual experience across the entire screen.

Ultra-high contrast: In the bare crystal state, the MPD is significantly darker than the Mini RGB; after packaging, the Mini RGB can still see the obvious RGB three-color outline, while the MPD is integrated with the package body, and there is no visual sense of fragmentation;

White level consistency: The Micro chip removes the native substrate, the three-color optical structure is completely consistent, and the three-color flatness and regularity are first-class, bringing great viewing angle white level consistency with excellent RGB overlap, and a wider viewing angle; it can solve the pain point of Mini COB being unable to make a high-quality large screen due to large viewing angle color casts when making a large screen.

Leading the industry in comprehensive die-bonding performance, achieving double breakthroughs in cost reduction and efficiency

When the pixel size is reduced to within a hundred microns and the packaging process is highly integrated, BOE Huacan MPD brings not only an innovation in form, but also a qualitative leap in the overall die-solid performance, accurately breaking through the industry's efficiency and yield pain points. With its innovative structural design, MPD has achieved the triple advantages of "high efficiency, high yield, and high adhesion" in the die-bonding process, allowing high-end Micro display products to truly enter a new stage of "mass production and application":

Efficiency doubling: The three-in-one integrated structure allows the die-bonding efficiency to be more than 2 times that of Mini LED, significantly reducing production costs;

Worry-free yield: Four pads with a large area and a wide Gap design, the die pass rate is as high as 80%-90%, far exceeding the level of the three-color die die mode;

Strong stability: 6 times the pad area of traditional devices, combined with 7 times the thrust intensity, brings higher welding strength; package flatness and light pattern stability bring a better visual experience.
